Australia Council for the Arts In Tamworth

On Friday 14th February, our president Emma was invited by the Arts Council of Australia to speak at the Tamworth Regional Gallery as part of the Arts Leaders Program – 3 Day Residential Program.

The gallery hosted a Leadership Exchange, on the topic of “Climate Change, Activism and Arts Leadership”.  Emma was honored to speak alongside Joseph Sikulu, Climate Change Advocate, 350 Pacific and performance artist Latai Taumoepeau. Each speaker focused on local, national and international challenges in the wicked problem of climate change, and how to not only navigate but lead through the uncertainty.

The event attracted over 80 people who participated in a learning exchange, where conversation and discussion were used to formulate consensus and better understanding of what could (and can) change (and improve), human understanding (and behaviour) in the face of grief, loss and uncertainty caused by climate change.
